This unit provides students with knowledge related to many field-based environments and activities utilised in the outdoor recreation/education and adventure sports industry. Students will investigate concepts and phenomena such as Geography, Geomorphology, Hydrology and Weather related to their professional practice upon which further theoretical and practical skill development can occur.
Upon completing the unit, students will have a foundational understanding of interpreting specific natural environments and ecosystems relating to the delivery of outdoor recreation/education and adventure sports outcomes. This unit will be primarily class-based, with outdoor field teaching as required.
