Students undertake this unit in order to develop applied skills in natural environments and outdoor leadership. Throughout the internship students maintain a professional reflective journal in which they document facets of their learning as it unfolds through observation, participation, trial and error and the requirements to work under pressure as part of a team. Students will consider their place in diverse teams, organisations and consider how broader stakeholder groups are impacted or assisted by natural environments and outdoor leadership practices.
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
Due to risk management and professional/industry requirements to demonstrate knowledge and skill within both simulated and workplace environments, graded attendance and hurdle tasks apply to laboratory work and practicums.

This unit is not compulsory for any specific course. Depending on the course you study, this unit may be taken as an elective.
