Food bank volunteering with Reaching Out
VU is working with Reaching Out to coordinate volunteering opportunities to assist in the organising. You can play a part in this invaluable service in the inner west of Melbourne.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. Many people find that it also has added benefits like bringing people together, personal and/or professional growth, increases self esteem. Volunteering saves vital resources that can be re-directed to create larger benefits for the cause and it can actually make you happier and healthier!

About Reaching Out
Reaching Out is a group that was established in 2005 and is located at the our Footscray Nicholson campus.
They provide home-cooked vegetarian meals, snack packs, non-alcoholic beverages, non-perishable food items, clothing, toiletries, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags and so much more to people who are struggling or experiencing homelessness.
They believe in treating everyone with respect, love, compassion, and non-judgement and rely solely on volunteers and donations to help hundreds of people each week.
