VU Online wins four LearnX Awards
Victoria University (VU) Online has won four Platinum awards at the 2021 LearnX Awards ceremony.
The VU Online team won Best Online Learning Model and Best eLearning Design Agile for two awards, while the other two awards were won in partnership. VU Online and Moondani Balluk won Best eLearning Design Micro/Bite Size for the microcredential 'Introduction to providing Culturally Safe Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples' on FutureLearn. VU Online, Keypath Education and LINC Education won the Best Talent Partnership award.
The Platinum award is LearnX’s top award.
VU Online Academic Director, Professor Chris Walsh said the awards recognised VU Online’s leadership in online education and learning design, as well as their industry-first model of student support in VU Online’s postgraduate block model.
“The awards are a testament to the team’s passion, tenacity, creativity and innovation,
” Professor Walsh said.
“Winning two collaborative awards, one with Moondani Balluk and the other with partners Keypath Education and LINC Education demonstrates the capability and breadth of the work the team is undertaking.
”
VU Online won the following 2021 LearnX Platinum awards:
- Best Learning Model – Online for ‘VU Online’s Postgraduate Block Model with student support 7 days a week and in the evenings’
- Best eLearning Design – Agile for VU Online’s Learning Design Team’s ‘Agile approach to eLearning design’
- Best eLearning Design - Micro/Bite Size (with Moondani Balluk) for the FutureLearn short course titled, ‘Introduction to providing Culturally Safe Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’
- Best Talented Team (with Keypath Education and LINC Education) for the a ‘Public-private partnership to transform the provision of university online education’.
Professor Walsh said the VU Online team joined a strong list of winners from corporate, academia, public service, and non-profit sectors globally including Coles, Medibank, ANZ, Blackmores, the Australian Government, Vodafone, McDonald’s, Volkswagen, VU Polytechnic, Griffith University and the Smith Family.
In 2020, VU Online was awarded two Platinum honours for Best Online Learning Model and Best Talent Partnership with LINC Education.
LearnX is an international awards program that recognises multiple fields within learning, development, and talent management across the corporate, education and public service sectors worldwide.
VU Online currently delivers fourteen postgraduate courses for Victoria University across the Victoria University Business School, the College of Health and Biomedicine and the College of Arts and Education. In 2022, VU Online will add nine new postgraduate courses in mental health, mental health nursing and child and adolescent mental health.
