CHCSS00070 Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set

This course is offered exclusively to industry employers who need to provide training to their healthcare workers. It is designed to ensure your staff understand and follow protocols when working with clients who take medication.

Through an online learning program and practical assessments in the workplace, your employees will learn to administer medication safely and correctly. They will gain foundational knowledge of the human body systems, and come to understand legal obligations and safe working practices in a healthcare environment.

Building on this knowledge, your staff will develop practical skills to administer medication in accordance with a client's care plan, including:

• checking expiry dates and dosage
• cleaning and storing equipment
• working with different forms of medication, such as capsules, inhalants, patches and lotions
