Credit for skills & past study

Credit for equivalent study, work, or life experience can reduce the number of units you need to complete for your qualification, saving you time and money.

You can apply for credit (advanced standing) towards a higher education (HE) diploma, bachelors degree, or postgraduate course. You may receive credit points if you have completed equivalent study or gained similar knowledge through work experience. Credit for units completed at VU is automatically granted.

You can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) towards a TAFE course. Credit transfer is available for completed units, and RPL also acknowledges work and life experience. If new standards are introduced for your existing TAFE qualification, we can assess your competency against the current requirements.
