From retail to a career in cyber security
The best thing about studying cyber security at VU TAFE was the positive and fun environment we were in. I loved going through the hacking challenges that were gamified in the labs.

Daniel was working in retail, selling music instruments, when he was drawn to a career in IT. He found Victoria University (VU) TAFE to be the perfect fit, saying the encouragement he received while studying his cyber security course pushed him ahead.
"I left my job as a sales professional so I could focus on studying the Certificate IV in Cyber Security, and take care of my kids while my wife worked. It helped that the course could be studied online when I was unable to make it to classes. From day one, I was impressed with the infrastructure and the teachers. My time studying at VU TAFE gave me a good foundation in IT. The teachers were supportive and had a wealth of knowledge.
"We were introduced to Immersive Labs, which was a hacking platform and I was able to reach the highest score in the college. This taught me a lot and I gained new IT skills. The best thing about studying cyber security at VU TAFE was the positive and fun environment we were in. I loved going through the hacking challenges that were gamified in the labs."
I would recommend VU TAFE because of the quality of teachers and the well-structured course. The classrooms were comfortable and the online learning portal VU Collaborate was easy to use. I completed my course and I am currently working as a Customer Support Engineer for an American software company. Overall, my journey has been fantastic!
