Students & alumni set to compete at Paris

Congratulations to Victoria University’s (VU) five students and alumni who are set to compete in the Paris 2024 Games.

Just hours away from the official opening, the excitement is building on our campuses for VU athletes representing Australia. 

Liam Adams (Marathon) 

VU alum and marathon runner Liam Adams will compete in Paris, representing Australia for the third time after competing at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. 

Aoife Coughlan (Judo) 

VU alum and judoka Aoife Coughlan will represent Australia for the second time. Aoife will have her sister (and VU alum) Maeve Coughlan by her side in Paris as her training partner.  

Leon Sejranovic (Taekwondo) 

Leon is currently studying at VU and will make his debut in Paris. In 2023, Leon won an historic bronze medal in a breakthrough performance at the World Taekwondo Championships in Azerbaijan  

Sergei Evglevski (Shooting) 

VU alum and sharp shooter Sergei Evglevski is competing in Paris after making his debut at the Tokyo Games. Sergei’s mother, Lalita Yauhleuskaya, competed five times. 

Danni Di Toro (Para-table tennis). 

Danni Di Toro is a seven-time Paralympian and will represent Australia at the Paris Games. Over the course of her career, Danni has won multiple medals, including in wheelchair tennis.
