Use the Library
The libraries at Victoria University can provide you with access to a range of facilities and services. These include facilities on campus, online access and access to other libraries outside of VU.
Some of the facilities and services we can provide access to include:
- books, journals and other articles in person or online
- PC access, printing, copying and scanning
- information on loans and renewals
- specialist PC.

If you are unable to find items through VU Library, you may be able to access the item from other libraries using CAVAL.

My Library
My Library is an online tool that lets you:
- see what items you have on loan
- check the due date of your books
- renew items
- request multiple holds
- check your holds
- suggest an item for the Library to purchase
- set up SMS alerts.
VU students and staff login to My Library using your MyVU login details. External borrowers login using your ID and library PIN.
Library PIN
VU students and staff, use your MyVU login to log in to My Library and access most Library online resources and services. Some resources and services may require a Library personal identification number (PIN), along with your student or staff ID number.
External and reciprocal borrowers, use your ID (the barcode number on your borrower card) and PIN to log in to My Library.
Students logging in for the first time, your default PIN is your date of birth in ddmmyyyy format.
New staff members and external borrowers do not have a default PIN. To create or reset your PIN follow the instructions below under Forgot Your PIN?
Updating your PIN is easy - when logged in to My Library, simply click on 'Modify your PIN', enter a new PIN and click submit.
Forgot your PIN?
From the page 'Forgot your PIN?', enter your student/staff ID or barcode number and submit.
An email with instructions on resetting your PIN will be sent to your default email address recorded on the system (allow 15 to 20 minutes for the email to arrive).
