Whether your passion is for biomedical science, exercise science, aged care, dermal therapies, nursing, midwifery, nutrition, osteopathy or ambulance paramedical science, we have the courses for a fulfilling career in the health industry.
If you don’t yet meet the entry requirements to get into your chosen health or biomedicine course, we'll get you where you need to be with our study pathways, with guaranteed entry into your chosen bachelor degree on completion of a diploma.
Biomedical science
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Biomedical Science course if you have successfully completed:
Biomedical & exercise science
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Biomedical and Exercise Science course if you have successfully completed:
Global public health
You are guaranteed entry into the Master of Global Public Health if you have successfully completed:
- Bachelor of Health Science (48 credit points).
Dermal sciences
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Dermal Sciences if you have successfully completed:
- Diploma of Beauty Therapy SHB50121 (previously SHB50115) (96 credit points)
- Diploma of Nursing HLT54121 (previously HLT54115) (84 credit points)
- Foundations at VU
- International Foundations at VU.
Please note: There may be a limit on how many students can access pathways to Bachelor of Dermal Sciences due to high demand. If you are eligible for a pathway but unsuccessful in securing a place, please contact VUHQ (student service centre) on + 61 3 9919 6100 for advice.
Health science
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Health Science if you have successfully completed:
- Diploma of Beauty Therapy SHB50121 (previously SHB50115) (no credit)
- International Foundations at VU.
Nursing
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Nursing if you have successfully completed:
- Diploma of Nursing HLT54121 (previously HLT54115) (96 credit points)
- International Foundations at VU.

Nutrition
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Human Nutrition if you have successfully completed:
Osteopathy
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) if you have successfully completed:
Paramedicine
You are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Paramedicine if you have successfully completed:
- Diploma of Emergency Health Care HLT51020* (96 credit points)
- International Foundations at VU.
*Students must complete Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport HLT31120 or other approved course and/or units in order to gain entry to Diploma of Emergency Health Care HLT51020. Please see 'Entry Requirements' on course page for full details.
