: On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Assess and evaluate sustainable construction practices and their environmental impacts including recognition of First Nations Peoples’ perspectives;

Implement strategies to enhance sustainability outcomes in construction projects, positively impacting environmental preservation and socio-economic development;

Interpret local and international regulatory and compliance frameworks related to environmental sustainability in the construction industry; and

Advocate for sustainable practices within construction teams and projects, influencing broader industry adoption of environmentally conscious strategies.
: The construction industry must transition to green building practices to meet national and global sustainability targets. During your study, you will come to understand the barriers to sustainable construction in the infrastructure sector and the management and communication skills needed to overcome them.
You will analyse resource consumption and the environmental impacts of construction processes and materials while gaining industry-standard knowledge of modern and innovative technologies.
You will also explore topics specific to Australia, coming to understand First Nations Peoples' ecological stewardship, and sustainable design principles.
: This course is part of a suite of postgraduate courses in construction management.
After completing your graduate certificate you may choose to extend your learning by transferring to our Graduate Diploma in Construction Management.
Following the diploma, an additional year of study will result in the Master of Construction Management. A masters degree will put you at the top of your field with substantial professional experience and the opportunity to contribute advancements to your industry by conducting original, data-focused research.
